About the festival
Atacamagica Kusiy was the first international illusionism festival for children and families held in the Atacama Region. It brought together artists from Argentina, Spain, Uruguay and Chile and presented performances in Copiapó, Chañaral and Tierra Amarilla, as well as a visit to the Regional Hospital's Paediatric Unit. Luis Albornoz led its concept, general direction and co-artistic direction, connecting illusionism with cultural access, identity and children's rights.

Illusionism for children and families
Funded by Fondart, the festival engaged more than 3,800 direct participants through school performances, events open to families, a community activity with children from Fútbol+, a conversation with ESARTE students and a visit to the Paediatric Unit at Hospital Regional San José del Carmen.
Four sold-out performances were held at the Centro Cultural Municipal de Copiapó. The programme turned magic into a theatrical and audience-development experience for children, while also opening a public reflection on children's rights.
